I love chaat – who doesn’t? That irresistible crunch, the burst of tangy tamarind, and the spice that hits just right make it my go-to evening snack craving after a long workday. Usually, I swing by Bhonsle in Porvorim, for quick, lip-smacking chaat that never disappoints. But Goa’s got more than just my neighborhood haunt – here are some other must-try spots to satisfy your chaat obsession!
From Pani Puri to Bhel – Head to Goa’s Best Chaat Spots
Kailash Parbat – Panjim, Margao, Candolim
Kailash Parbat stands as a transplanted slice of Mumbai’s relentless street-food pulse. This pure- vegetarian restaurant boasts an 80-year-old legacy and now sprawls across continents. In Goa, we have 3 sit-down restaurants and I’ve been to the Margao and Candolim ones – the Margao being my preference between the two. This casual dining spot, with its clean lines and modest terracotta accents is an efficient quick-service haven – a magnet for homesick domestic tourists.

Prices here are wallet-friendly (₹600-800 for two), so it’s no wonder that the place is always full with college kids, families demolishing platters, tourists and those stopping by for a work-lunch. The menu is a mix of North Indian and Sindhi classics, and oddly, they also offer pizza, honey chilli lotus stem and paneer ghee roast which seem a bit out of character. The pav bhaji and chole bhature with lassi here are unmissable, though.

But in terms of chaat, opt for their chaat platter – a sharable snack with 4 types of chaat on it. Their pani puri, You’ll also find Bombay-style dahi puri, dahi wada, samosa chaat, sev puri, ragda dahi puri and more. End with a falooda!
The Rasoda – Porvorim, Panjim, Margao, Old Goa
The Rasoda in another vegetarian chaat haven that brings North India’s street food to the coast, With outposts in Panaji, Porvorim, and Margao, the larger outlets (Margao, Old Goa) do everything from breakfast to late-night thalis, while the smaller ones (such as the Porvorim outlet are stores for mithai and live chaat counters). This brand does some amazing North Indian food, by the way!

The prices here are steeper as compared to other places on my list for the best chaat in Goa, however, the quality is undeniable. Order small plates, perfect for sharing -Delhi aloo tikki chaat, khasta kachori chaat, mathra chaat and raj kachori. Of course, they also do the more popular items, such as pani puri which is a standout, addictive sev puri, dahi bhalla drowning in creamy yogurt and tamarind drizzle. Like most chaat places in Goa, you can customize it to your spice levels.

Loved this list—now I’m hungry! 😄 One tiny add that would help visitors: a quick map with opening hours and spice/veg notes (e.g., “mild/medium/spicy,” “pure veg”) for each spot. That would make an already tasty guide even easier to use.
