Where to Eat in Ashwem – ThatGoanGirl Guide

Ashwem, nestled in the vibrant coastal state of Goa, is a must-visit culinary destination for food enthusiasts. Although I haven’t had the chance to explore all the restaurants in Ashwem, I can confidently recommend two exceptional dining experiences that stand out as the best of the best.

Restaurants in Ashwem

Ashwem, a coastal gem in Goa, is known for its pristine beaches, artistic vibes, and delicious food. With uncrowded shores and crystal-clear waters, it offers a tranquil escape. The town is also home to a vibrant artistic community, with galleries and boutiques showcasing local talent. When it comes to dining, Ashwem presents a delectable food scene with beachside shacks serving authentic Goan cuisine and upscale restaurants offering global flavors.

La Plage

I’d last been to La Plage ages ago, but memories of sitting in this beautiful beachside restaurant, digging my feet in the sand and relishing some fine French cuisine still linger. This is a good place to head to if you like meat (steaks, burgers and fillets), seafood, and petite plates. The food is consistently good and if you love chocolate, the chocolate thali is worth travelling to Ashwem for.

Kaia

I discovered Kaia recently and captured all the aesthetic corners and vibrant plates to tempt you to go check it out. With plenty of plants, cane, bamboo, jute, and other natural materials, the space has a beautiful outdoor-meets-indoor vibe. Food-wise, choose the small plates over the large ones. The bacon and avocado croissant and the French toast were stunning to look at and tasted great too.

Go during sundown when you can appreciate the interiors and the weather is cool enough to allow you to dine comfortably. The drinks are great, so if you go during the afternoons, their well-crafted cocktails and mocktails will come to your rescue. This boho-themed restaurant has sea-facing rooms too!
